Leading sports betting company, Mercury International donated Le 5,080,000 to the Kent Cricket Club Women's team ahead of the 2012 Sierra Leone Cricket Association Women’s national cricket league.
Handing over the cheque to the club’s Secretary General at his Rawdon street office, Chairman Board of Director, Mercury International, Samir Hassanyeh said they are delighted to make such donation to the club adding that they were impress with the clubs proposal and structures.
“We are happy to make this donation to your club we hope you will put it in good use as this is a test case for you people. Mercury International doors are always open to all as we will continue give back to the people of this country,” Hassanyeh said. Founder and secretary general of KCC, Emmanuel Pessima thanked Mercury International for their kind gesture adding that the donation will help the club greatly in it pursuits to lift the league title this season.
He said: “We are very proud to receive such donation from Mercury International which will help us greatly not only in our drive to win the league title but also boost our players who are mostly students.”
Pessima further promised Mercury International his club will be transparent and will submit financial reports on how the money was spent.
